The Sarplaninac is a big dog with thick, long fur. Their fur is usually 4 inches long, and if they are well taken care of, they can be very fluffy. Their fur coats can be uniform colors such as tan, black, and white.

Male Kangal shepherd dogs are between 28 and 31 inches tall, while females are between 25 and 30 inches tall. Males weigh between 106 and 132 pounds, and females weigh between 88 and 110 pounds.
